The Idea

Jessica Shipman, founder of Cheti Sponsorship Program, worked with a local Rotary Club to acquire 20,000 books to send to Tanzania. All she needs is a little help getting them there, and into the hands of 4,000 children that desperately need them...

The Specifics

Jessica has worked tirelessly to provide resources to schools, and sponsorship for impoverished children’s education in Tanzania. So far, Jessica and Cheti Sponsorship Program have built classrooms; purchased land and school buses; obtained educational sponsorship for hundreds of children; and provided students with food and water. Their latest project is to send 20,000 books, already obtained with the help of a Rotary Club, to Arusha, Tanzania. There they will be distributed to schools in the area, reaching 4,000 students. The funds from this challenge will put Cheti’s fundraising over the edge, and provide children with books to help them learn, grow, and change the world around them.
